"Dear Lord, all I ask for is a nice home in Alpha Centauri"

Alpha Centauri might not be the best place to choose for a home. It's a binary star system. You'd probably have 24 hours of daylight, depending on your proximity to the stars. On the other hand, you might have a day cycle similar to Tatooine with two 'suns' in the sky. That would be the most awesome thing!

Seems to be two competing theories on that. Some are saying that Alpha Centauri may be ideal for an earth mass rocky planet.

Gamma Cephei is a binary system with known planets.

>>It’s a binary star system.

Technically, it’s trinary, with a reasonably close (23 AU) double star, and a third star (Proxima Centauri) loosely, and possibly not permanently, orbiting those two at about 13,000 AU. Proxima Centauri is the closest other star to our Sun.
