1. Drive really slow
2. Go first at an intersection when you were there first
3. Beep when you dont instantly start after a green light
4. Tailgaters who easily could go around you
5. Dont pay attention at traffic lights
6. Lane changers
7. Write text messages while driving.
8. Turn in front of you without using a signal.
9. Tailgate when youre behind someone else.
10. Wave you through a stop sign even though they were there first.

One of my major gripes are idiots who come up to a stop sign at an intersection where they want to turn left, and they start their turn before they stop (and before they actually enter the intersection). They stop at an angle, partially blocking the oncoming lane.
That makes it much more difficult for anyone wanting to turn left onto that street to make their turn. Either you have to allow the idiot to proceed (even though YOU have the right of way), or you have to make a very sharp greater-than-90-degree turn to get around the idiot.
Very often the idiot will add insult to injury by pulling forward as you are trying to get around him making your turn even more difficult, or even dangerous because now you are having to predict what the idiot is going to do when, in fact, he is supposed to be stationary until you are clear of him.
Idiots do this to save a little time, but by making it more difficult for the other guy, they just slow down the process for everyone (and occasionally cause an accident).
I used to believe that early compliance with a merge sign was the honorable and polite thing to do. But now I believe that traffic engineers want you to MERGE AT THE MERGER!
My beef is with people attempting to enter that highway from a shopping center. They want to go left while right to left traffic lanes are filled with traffic so they scoot into that yellow lane when the left to right traffic clears. Then when the right to left traffic clears, they merge into the lane.............
The only problem is that they are sitting there blocking the center yellow lane while a legitimate trafficker has pulled into that lane in order to make his legal left into that very shopping center...........
“Yeah, we dont have round abouts, we have traffic circles. Set him straight!”
In London can be found “Picadilly Circus”
:)
“I’m more important than everyone else on the road” attitude that any of these bonehead moves require is just moronic.
Yeah I have been to Picadilly Circus, I was terribly disappointed. Can’t exactly say what I expected, but I didn’t find it. I remember I saw some people with purple and green hair, they were kinda circus-like.
“I’m more important than everyone else on the road” attitude that any of these bonehead moves require is just moronic.
The other side of the coin is the one that races ahead of you in the left lane, suddenly veers in front of you (even though there is no car less than a quarter of a mile behind you), and then abruptly enters an exit ramp saving himself one tenth of second. But you have to slow down to avoid slamming into the moron as he or she slows down to exit.
I've done informal tests (counting how many cars out of ten have their lights on) of these morons, and it appears to be about ten to fifteen percent of all drivers.
>People that pull right out in front of you just to make a turn...<
Meh. You are in Massachusetts. Inevitable. It might even be a law.
I hate round a bouts. We have here where I live. They put them in intersections that were originally designed to have them.
I've driven in a lot states, but Texas is the only state where I've seen that done. Good for Texas.
14: Drivers who think it is up to them to enforce speed limits in the left lane.
Wow!
That subject has not been treated nearly enough on this thread!
Give ‘em H*ll!
;^)
“4 lane highway with the center yellow lane used to make a left hand turn off the highway.........”
Around here, that is what you are supposed to do. But yes, one needs to be REALLY careful in doing it. Most of the times there is enough space for both folks coming off of and going onto the road. Until the traffic starts backing up, and the person wanting to turn left drives 1/2 a block in the the turn lane. There is one place near here that when it is busy I just drive around to the side road so I can use the signal rather than messing with trying to get back onto the road.
My main pet peeves:
1: People in a left-turn arrow (no other traffic except them can go) that wait until the car in front of them has cleared the intersection. It is REALLY frustrating to be stuck in that lane and seeing 4 cars go when 8 could have!
2: When they DO turn left they veer over into the right hand lane rather than staying in their lane. I used to turn right in front of left-hand turn drivers in my old truck to teach them that lesson. With a new truck and wiser now, I don’t unless I am sure they have enough time to see me and figure out they need to stay in their lane.
3: At a 4-way stop, when it is crowded, and the two cars facing each other and going straight wait for the other one to pass through the intersection. (When they COULD go at the same time).
So then why did you ask in the first place?
And going back to my first post, something to keep in mind:
It doesn't matter who's right, IF YOU'RE DEAD!
I don’t think I asked you anything, I just repeated what you said.
“I’ll bet you love the SmartCars too”
The other day a guy was crossing the street when a Smartcar came around the corner and hit him.
He had to go the hospital to have it removed.
ROTFLMBO!
