I have about 100 gallons stashed. I basically never throw out plastic containers, they get washed and rinsed and filled with tapwater.

2-liter soda bottles make great containers for water storage, but I’ve learned that juice bottles do not. It’s nearly impossible to remove all the sugars from the plastic, and they would contaminate the water. I have a FEMA link with that info around here somewhere.

How long would tap water last in those containers and would it eventually need to be filtered before drinking?
