I saw Jaws when it came out...

I was holding a big bag of popcorn and when the shark comes up near his hand, I slap my hands together in fright and the popcorn flew in the air and for rows...

People 3,4 rows around us were saying Oh where did that come from ...

LOL

My husband was not amused and told me i was not to have popcorn at a movie again...

Yes the 1st was the best...

I think they got progressively PC and didnt want to finish off the shark...

Lots of silly dead humans were OK though...

I still haven't seen any of the Godfather movies, Psycho, North by Northwest.

I got to see the Godfather for the first time when they re-released it for the big screen in '97. I was expecting it to be overrated. I was very wrong. I went to see it again a week later. I liked it just as much the sedcond time.

Psycho is an important movie, but not a "great" movie. It was ground breaking in its time, and Perkins was born for the part.

North by Northwest is very good, though a bit uneven, and a little farfetched at the end. Another good Hitchcockj to consider is Strangers on a Train.

Not on your list, but consider "The Third Man", "A Touch of Evil", "The Philadelphia Story", "The Maltese Falcon", "All About Eve" and "Sunset Boulevard."

Forgot to say, I first saw it on TV. Much worse, I didn’t see Casablanca until I was in college.

Really? You’ve got to see the Godfather movies. Those are greatness. (Well, not #3.)

The movie isn’t about a shark, but rather, three men on a boat.

I was ten. My family was visiting friends (the family included my best friend who I only saw a few times/year and her brother who was always getting us into trouble). We were allowed to walk up to the local mall, which was just a few blocks away as long as her brother was with us.

That particular time, we were told that “under no circumstances” were we to attend the new-release movie “Jaws.” Well, let’s just say that I paid for my disobedience in my nightmares...LOL!

Yes.

Although I didn't care for Marlon Brando mumbling his way through his lines with his cheeks stuffed with cotton.

The book is always better. The only movie I ever saw that might have been as good as the book was The Firm.

I was pretty young when Jaws came out but my dad let us watch it when it came out on HBO when my mom wasn’t home! To this day, my sister uses the phrase “This was no boating accident” whenever possible! I liked the movie because the Roy Schneider character made it more believable. I don’t know if he was in any of the other jaws movies. My kids like the Jaws ride at Universal Orlando, the rubber shark is pretty funny, and a little scary at first, in a good way.

Saw Jaws when it came out and then five years ago. I had missed the obvious propaganda the first time around and I grew up in a small New England coastal town. The depiction of us is despicable. We’re all stupid, we wear polyester suits, are fat, sweat, overload small boats while armed with shotguns and need snotty nosed Richard Dreyfuss, the great scientist, to save us.

The original Star Wars, and The Empire Strikes Back, are worth seeing. Star Wars should be seen in the original, rather than the Special Edition, and is a groundbreaking movie. For the full effect, watch “Logan’s Run” right before, and then as you watch Star Wars, keep in mind that it came out less than a year after Logan’s Run. Empire was just a good movie, well directed, and probably the best of the six (in some cases, by a long way); that it happens to have been part of a (mostly) well-conceived science fiction universe makes it even better.
