A Morning Prayer
I Am
I am a small child in the hand of God above
and glad I am, truly to know the gentle Dove
My heart finds peace in His eternal love and care
and by his words know His reign is always fair
I pause, to lift my heart to Him who gave me life
and walks by me in the darkest rage and strife
I trust to Him who knows my heart and loves me still
and lets me drink of life and love, my soul to deeply fill
