I recommend reading ‘The Arctic Grail’ by Berton. Great read about Franklin and the search afterwards.

This one book alone also disproves the Polar ice melting because of Man Made Global Warming. As Berton points out, the ice comes and goes from year to year without any patern. One year you can sail all the way through the passage, next, it’s frozen almost all year.

Arctic Grail is an outstanding book, and I have drawn the same points regarding global warming. Pierre Berton is an excellent author, and I like how he chronicles events over their lifetime. ‘The Klondike’ was a great read too.

Check out ‘Fatal Voyage’, by Ken McGoogan (spelling might be off on his last name). Its the story of John Rae and his search for the Franklin expedition. It is also very good.

When I was in Europe last year and they had an Arctic explorers exhibit at the Maritime Museum in Grenwich. Quite a few relics from Franklin’s ships on display, loved seeing it.
