This debacle calls to mind those arguments of a few years ago about “you can’t say you support the troops if you don’t support the mission”. Some of us argued that this is pure nonsense, sometimes one has to oppose the mission in order to support the troops. This is one of those times.

Exactly what is the mission?
Does the President know?
Do the Generals know?
Do the troops know?
Do the citizens of America know?

The mission is set by the CIC. He has not articulated a coherent, achievable mission statement. In the absence of a clear goal one abhors the expenditure of human resources. In this case one supports the troops by calling for an end to their commitment in furtherance of an undefined mission.
