More power to him. Not for me, but I cannot see how anyone could fault this fella. No government mandate. All on his own. I found myself watching this and a small part of me was thinking "How relaxing and worry free is that?" Didn't see a Direct TV dish anywhere though. That worries me about him some.

That aint nothing LoL I once lived for about 3 yrs in one of those 18ft long travel Trailors like they built in the 50s and 60s the living room was your bedroom kitchen and also your bath if you didnt pull a curtain. I have since lived for months at a time in my 28ft Rv that I purchased in the 80s I have kept it so long because everything is were i like it so it works for me.

My friends have a cabin that size in North Carolina. I have stayed there and could easily live there permanently.

I sure would have to get rid of all the stuff in my home, however!

Theirs was built off site, delivered and set up by a local craftsman. Actually split into 2 rooms so bath is open and the kitchen and living room share the other half of the space...actually probably just over 100 square feet. 9X12?

Everybody has different taste. I can see how this would fill the housing need for some.

Since it is on wheels it is more a trailer than a house. So you would not be paying any property tax (but you would need a vehicle license, which should be cheaper),

A samll space would help in cutting down on impulse buying.

For me it would be one step abouve living on the streets. I am getting too old for such adventures but if I was in my 20s again, I think I could live in something like that (when I got married I was living in a “studio apartment” which was not bigger than this “house”.

Cute house, well done but I like my stuff, my art, my antiques, my dogs. It is not for me, I'd be claustrophobic after a while.

I have a 20’ 1973 Winnebago. I want to take out the air conditioner and put in a hatch and ladder to the roof like the new Airstream. It costs $60 a year to tag, and about $500 a year to insure (which I think is too much).

Eight or nine years ago we threw away our tv, and don’t feel deprived at all.

Really doesn't look much different than living on a small boat. A lot of people are quite content in a compact environment.

Can somewhat see how he feels. There are times when the demands of large home maintenance leaves me feeling that my house & related stuff owns me and not the other way around.

Not a bad idea actually. If I was single, that would be an ideal "low-maintenance" bachelor pad. All I need for just myself is a comfortable place to read, sleep, surf the net, maybe a little TV.

Add a wife and kids though, forget about it. I have three floors of living space and sometimes that isn't even enough to gain proper separation!

Trathen Hefman? Well bless his wholesome vegetarian mother.

Tell you what, I lived in an apartment that totaled about 400 square feet - with another person. I’ve cooked in a kitchen that had a sliver of counter space and nowhere to store pots and pans except the top of the stove, and I’ve experienced living, dining, office and bedroom all in one room. No way, ever, ever, ever again.

If the global warming freaks have their way, we’ll ALL be living in (government mandated) 89 sq. ft. homes some day.

Those little houses were cute... but those two guys could not have been any gayer if they were auditioning for a sitcom role.
