- Has the Greek Town Where Ships Launched For Troy Been Discovered? -- Thursday, July 8, 2010 -- Biblical Archaeology Review -- Recent construction work in Kyparissia, Greece has uncovered an ancient underground city that is believed to be the location from which ships were launched for Troy at the beginning of the Trojan War. The town of Kyparissia has long believed itself to be the ancient launching point of ships bound for Troy, and the recently discovered underground city seems to support this belief. To date, building outlines and well-preserved ancient tile work have been excavated.
