I had hoped NCL would refit and return her to service.
A classic. She can't carry as many passengers as the Oasis of the Seas, but she's got a lot more class.
My dad was in the Navy in England from ‘64 - 67 and we returned to the States on this ship. It was a great experience. Very few Navy families got to do this. I think the fact that my dad was Admiral McCain’s plane captain had something to do with it.
Incredible vessel but completely gutted as I understand it. Engines gone, interior gone, stripped to the hull. She’s just a shell now.
Not that I’m ready to see her sent to the breakers, but whoever sets out to refurbish her has a herculean task ahead.
