The FDA has issued a press release stating another cat food recall is being conducted. The voluntary recall comes from the cat food company, Feline’s Pride.

The recall comes after the 2.5 lbs. (1.13 kg., 40 oz.) containers produced on 6/10/10, of Feline’s Pride Raw food with ground bone for cats and kittens & Natural Chicken Formula, is believed to be contaminated with Salmonella. The source or reason of the contamination has not yet been identified, but is being investigated by the FDA & Feline’s Pride.

People handling raw pet food can become infected with Salmonella, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the raw pet food or any surfaces exposed to the product.

If you have this product in your possession, it is very important to dispose of this product safely. Human contamination of the Salmonella bacteria occurs when the raw food is handled or touched, and spreads, especially if the person has not washed their hands thoroughly.

All the old folks on fixed incomes need to take note of this.

I just bought a new bag of Purina Cat Chow. My cat has been vomiting since I opened it. He NEVER throws up. I think there’s more wrong with cat food than just Felines Pride.

People are at risk handling uncooked chicken and other meats as well.

I checked the link. No good answers. Nimh has always eaten Cat Chow. It's odd he'd start vomiting when I opened a new bag.

My Rocket is allergic to everything but canned Fancy Feast Classics except the fish flavors and the “Beef Feast” and “Gourmet Chicken,” which also have fish in the ingredients.

All of the prescription foods for his condition make him very sick. [wry smile about the irony]

Fate is a witty little [CENSORED], isn’t he?

Please give Rocket some more hugs and kitty treats for me.
