Apparently Contador doesn’t respect his own skill or he wouldn’t have tried to win like that.
true
arrogance has a way of making things very ugly
I would like to see the entire peloton vs AC and Astana. Hell Astana might even be against AC now. Vino did wait.
Ouch! Or Michael Irvin’s.
Don’t get me started on Dallas Cowboy thugs. I hate that team, and I don’t even give a rat’s rear end about pro football.
Now that I'd like to see.
Agreed. I understand being "competitive" and this is a race, but it is an unwritten agreement amongst "gentleman". You don't gain time on an opponent who has a mechanical issue, especially when it happens right in front of you and you've been evenly matched all day.
Never been much of a fan of Contador, and I know he'd probably have made up the time over the next few days, but he seems like more of a jerk than ever, now.
Me, too!!
Me, too!!
That was odd... I AM excited about the possibility of everyone ganging up on AC but I swear I only pushed the post button once...
” I like this statement, Contador just gained a great chance to win, but he lost the chance to win greatly. “
Well stated. A champion respects his competition.
Lance showed this when he waited for Jan Ulrich, when he crashed . Contador is not, and in my opinion, will never be
that classy.
” I would love to see Lance, Levi and some of the RS climbers get with Schleck and say You need us to help you on the next few climbs, just say the word and we are there. lets bury the Spanish B**tard”
That would be a well deserved payback.
It was worth repeating, luvvy. ;>)
LOL! :-D
Responding to myself, but wanted to provide some historical
perpective to my Lance waits for Ullrich comment:
Jan Ullrich Crash 2001

The Kaiser, oh how I miss him. Its getting to be a long time ago now but I still remember when Jan Ullrich overshot the corner and went straight over the safety barriers on the descent of the Col du Peyresourde on Stage 13 of the 2001 TdF. Lance waited for Ullrich to get back on and traded pulls with him almost to the finish (before he put the hammer down and dropped him). It was the first act of the gentlemans rule in cycling that I ever saw: Thou shalt not ride away from a rival when he is on the ground, stopping to relieve himself, or at other unsporting moments. I would have attacked him while he was down
I actually love pro football but I find it curious that Owens cannot find a team that is willing to take him. Usually there is an owner that is so greedy for wins that he will pay up for a player he knows full well to be poison (Cowboys last year). Not so with Owens this year- at least so far.
I think folks are just getting tired of TO’s particular brand of BS. Even the greedy owners, who have watched 4-5 other greedy owners have to put up with him.
In all future editions of every Spanish dictionary, the definition of the word cabrón should be illustrated with a picture of Alberto Contador taken on July 19, 2010.
A little traipse down memory lane. Check out the brochure for the Motorola Team 1995:

Note who the publicity director was.
That's the difference between a leading rider and a champion.
