What is Andy Schleck’s twitter handle? Twitter ID? What do they call one’s twitter appellation?
Ed
That in a nutshell is what may be the coolest thing about pro cycling. These longer tours afford a more intimate familiarity with all the athletes and the riders do just tend to lose their 'foreign -ness' with regular viewers. So if Contador is a jerk, he's not a Spanish jerk, he's just a Contador jerk. And Andy Schleck is the ultimate kind of 'everyman' who really could be from anywhere, couldn't he?
Finally saw the slow-mo overhead replays of the Renshaw controversy, including his attempt to push Tyler aside & keep him from going through. Also a new interview with Julian Dean who was sure singing a different tune later than he did immediately afer the finish & before Renshaw’s expulsion was known. At first he thought it was no big deal, but it became much more of a firing offense to him as the full extent of Renshaw’s aggressiveness became clear, I guess.

Was thinking the very same thing myself earlier. Maybe they're as ambivalent about Alberto as we are? If Andy pulls something out of his hat, I have a hunch we may see them start spinning in their chairs 'in a most immodest way'.;-)
Oops, that was supposed to be for luv2ski. Unnnnnghghghghgh.

The Stage started at 12:45 local time CEST (6 hrs ahead of US EDT).
velonews.com - "Stage 13 will be a beautiful day for spectators, as it passes through a landscape full of deep gorges and hilltop villages on the southern end of the Massif Central. The hardest climb of the day is the Cat. 3 Côte dAmbialet. The shorter St. Ferréol climb could be decisive on the finishing loop before a flat run-in to the line.
FReepmail me to get on or off the 2010 TdF Ping List.
been under the weather this past week but have been keeping up with the fine threads... thanks for the work you put into the thread each day. It is really helpful
Not to worry! I saw it!
I know you’re lovin’ this, R4F, but have you picked up on the fact that there are a lot of chicks on this thread? Rather unusual for FR- I generally find myself outnumbered...
Hey now; I’m a guy. Not posting much but I’m here.
Don’t think that 10 sec will be that big a deal on the final day of the TdF. MAYBE!
Andy needs to put some time into Conti the next few days. If he don’t Conti will beat him on the TT.
It will be something if he does and then Conti pulls it all back on the time trial - and then beats Andy by 10 sec or less.
13:08 - Prize Classifications: Part 04 White Jersey
Yesterday Andy Schleck gained a five-second advantage on the rider in second place in the youth classification, Robert Gesink. The Dutchman will wear the white jersey again today, however, as Andy cannot wear both yellow and white. Roman Kreuziger (LIQ) finished 10th yesterday, but the Czech still lost ground to Schleck and his deficit is up to 516. Three Frenchman hold down 4th, 5th and 6th places Gautier (BTL at 3101), El Fares (COF at 3354) and and Rolland (BTL at 4225).
13:06 - Prize Classifications: Part 03 Polka-Dot Jersey
Anthony Charteau (BTL) is back in the lead of the climbing classification after being part of the 18-man escape group in stage 12. He added 17 points to his tally of 107, taking points on three of the five climbs on the way to Mende. Only two men have worn the polka-dot jersey in the 2010 Tour, Jérôme Pineau being the other. The Quickstep rider is now 15 points behind his rival. The leader of general classification, Andy Schleck is now up to third, with 64pts, two more than Christophe Moreau.
13:03 - Prize Classifications: Part 02 Green Jersey
By taking 10 points at the two intermediate sprint of stage 12, Thor Hushovd (CTT) reclaimed the green jersey yesterday. He now has 167 points, six more than yesterdays leader of the points classification Alessandro Petacchi (LAM) who scored no points in the stage to Mende. Robbie McEwen (KAT) is still in third with 138pts and Mark Cavendish (THR) fourth with 132pts.
13:02 - Prize Classifications: Part 01 Yellow Jersey
There was a slight shuffle in the top 10 of the general classification after the tough 12th stage. First of all, the runner-up in Mende Alberto Contador gained 10 seconds on the race leader Andy Schleck (who was 5th in the stage), secondly, the winner yesterday, Joaquim Rodriguez moved up from ninth overall to eighth. The Katusha rider is now 458 behind Schleck. Furthermore, Roman Kreuziger finished 16 ahead of Ivan Basso and the pair swapped positions: 11th to 10th (and vice-versa).
RSH overtook CAISSE DEPARGNE for a 21” lead in the team classification.
And Thor regained his points lead.
Forgot to post the overall yesterday -

Of the 3 riders in the break, Chavanel is the best-placed in the GC at >26’ behind leaders.
There are no GC threats in the break, but the sprinters are going to want those points at the finish.
As I mentioned, RSH is now back in the Team lead after Stage 12. Here are the RSH riders making up that lead:
6. LEIPHEIMER Levi 25 TEAM RADIOSHACK 58h 46’ 07” + 04’ 06”
20. KLÖDEN Andréas 24 TEAM RADIOSHACK 58h 51’ 06” + 09’ 05”

22. PLAZA MOLINA Ruben 168 CAISSE DEPARGNE 58h 52’ 42” + 10’ 41”
40. MOREAU Christophe 166 CAISSE DEPARGNE 59h 13’ 23” + 31’ 22”
Astana is in 3rd at >15’ back, but that could evaporate quickly in the mountains to come.
Interesting....:
Corsica
The Tour de France has visited every region of European France[90] except Corsica.
Jean-Marie Leblanc, when he was organiser, said the island had never asked for a stage start there. It would be difficult to find accommodation for 4,000 people, he said.[91] The spokesman of the Corsican nationalist party, François Alfonsi, said: “The organisers must be afraid of outrages [attentas].[92] If they are really thinking of a possible terrorist action, they are wrong. Our movement, which is nationalist and for self-government [autonomiste] would be delighted if the Tour came to Corsica.”[91]
Yeah, 600 THIS. ;>)
