Speaking at a press conference at the G20 Summit in Canada today, President Obama lectured everyone about how we need to learn that he does what he says he will do. As part of that, he said he was “calling” the “bluff” of those pushing for deficit reduction. He said he hopes they will “step up” next year when he “presents very difficult choices to the Country.” He did not say what “choices” he is talking about.

The only department that we really need is Defense. I wonder how much of the other departments is dead wood, make work departments...Why is Health and Human services spending more than defense....useless and probably could be cut by 90% along with most of the others...with no interruption in services.....Since SS checks are automated and many just transfered electronically to bank accounts why are there so many people employed there..(unless I am reading the graft wrong)

If factories can be automated to make complicated machinery, the departments should be able to be automated at about 80%. Sometimes you need to talk with a human, if you can figure out which # on the phone to press....

HHS and its subagencies fund all the commies at the federal level, as well as most of the commie funding for state, county, and city levels -- every brainless jerkwad with a sociology or social worker degree, and all the peripheral occupational categories, and all the contracting opportunities, grants for academic research, counseling centers and programs, ad infinitum, really.

I believe evidence exists now that God is real and is intervening in the affairs of the United States of America. My personal bugbear is a component of the NIH called the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine aka the NACM. It's an agency that essentially lends an air of legitimacy to quackery - with an annual budget of $121,000,000. This agency could be defunded and no-one would know the difference except the agency's employees. I can only imagine what other similarly useless programs are being funded under the Health and Human Services banner.
