Well, your personal experience notwithstanding, people engaged in political campaigns and litigation stemming from those campaigns aren't paying their legal fees upfront. Whomever is representing Palin, or any Governor, knows that they're good for it.

It's conclusions were pretty much the same----Sarah Palin did nothing wrong, but because of a serious flaw in the law, the Alaska Trust Fund violated the Ethic Act because 1) it had the word "official" in its organizational name, and 2) since Kristan Cole had once served as a volunteer for the governor, then she was not permitted to manage the fund.
That's ALL that the Independent Counsel (who is a democrat BTW and works for a law firm with close ties to the DNC) could find while sorting through the facts.
Hence, Sarah decided that enough was enough and agreed to return the money in the Alaska Trust Fund and start up a new trust fund called the Sarah Palin Legal Defense Fund.
As soon as I get my check, I'm going to turn around and send it right back to the new fund.
