...some people are not aware that a she was named a he name... I checked, and the poster I was talking to has only posted here a total of seven times in six years. That's why they weren't aware of Obama's mother's strange name.
To be fair, I also asked my wife today whether she knew what Obama's mother's name was, and she admitted that she didn't. She keeps up with the news and listens to talk radio, but has never heard it.

The reason for the name was the father’s intense wish for a son. When he got a daughter, he went ahead with the name he had been ready to assign to a son. Weird, but just about everything concerning that crew is weird.
