GULF SHORES, Ala. (AP) -- Dolphins and sharks are showing up in surprisingly shallow water just off the Florida coast. Mullets, crabs, rays and small fish congregate by the thousands off an Alabama pier. Birds covered in oil are crawling deep into marshes, never to be seen again.

Marine scientists studying the effects of the BP disaster are seeing some strange - and troubling - phenomena....

“Saudi oil is different. It rides high in the water and is thicker consequently easier to clean up.”

You mean because they didn’t dilute it with dispersant?

I can’t imagine there was much difference in the oil from the earth in both cases...this was unrefined.

Marxists are not comparable to natural predators, who coexist with their prey and cannot survive if their prey are exterminated. Predators are actually better off if their prey species are flourishing and multiplying. Marxists are dedicated to the utter destruction of the existing economic order, as we saw in the Khmer Rouge massacres in Cambodia. They do not care if the productive population is decimated, as long as their new ruling elite is able to survive.

Read Richard Wurmbrand's Marx and Satan, and you will realize that Marx was a nihilist who glorified death and destruction.

US law forbids skimming machines apparently because the machines work by taking in the oil-rich top layer off the sea surface, centrifuging it to separate the oil, and then releasing the remnant water. The problem, according to the geniuses in government is that the discharged water has some oil in it, and thus cannot be disposed into the sea, even though it is cleaner than the surrounding sea water.

That, and adding emulsifiers to hide the oil, has compounded the problem significantly.

Obama coerced BP to agree to put $50Bn in that 'trust fund'.

You can buy a heck of a lot of votes with $50 billion.

“There are several kinds of crude.”

There are many types of comedians, too. Some float better.

I find nothing that says Saudi crude is easier to suction than Gulf crude oil. That there are “several kinds of crude” is meaningless unless there is a quality that makes one less sutible than the other for surface harvesting. Nothing. Dispersants aside, since they are already on or near the shore, or sub-surface, there are still no significant efforts about which I am aware to contain that oil which does not contain dispersant. And no answer as to why, except that the Unions will insist on running the efforts and the foriegn companies will not allow that. The Jones amendment can easily be waived, as W did.

I can find no references to the superior bouyancy of Saudi crude oil.

reminds me of the Mobile Bay jubilee

Jubilee is the name used locally for a natural phenomenon that occurs sporadically on the shores of Mobile Bay, a large body of water on Alabama's Gulf Coast. During a jubilee many species of crab and shrimp, as well as flounder, eels, and other demersal fish will leave deeper waters and swarm—in large numbers and very high density—in a specific, shallower coastal area of the bay.[1] A jubilee is a celebrated event in Mobile Bay, and it attracts large crowds, many drawn by the promise of abundant and easy-to-catch seafood.[2]

Although similar events have been reported in other bodies of water, Mobile Bay is the only place where the regular appearance of this phenomenon has been documented.[3]

This is the worst man-made environmental disaster in U.S. history. Obama is directly responsible for its escalation. This cannot be overstated. The only expansion that is needed is an expansion of volunteers and equipment needed to clean up and protect the area.

Obama needs to remove the roadblocks that keep needed supplies from reaching the area...and then get out of the way.

Since crude oil is merely a suspension of component fractions, not necessarily stable, there could be a possibility that each of those have sunk or floated, or mixed with the water, based on their relative densities.

I’m not sure about Saudi crude, but I do recall reading that a huge portion of the leaked Gulf crude is spreading on the sea bed, forming massive plumes. Have the Saudis suffered the same problem? They have pearl and fish industries all along their coasts.
