I have done an extensive study and herewith submit my findings regarding countries where soccer is more popular than baseball.

Those countries where soccer is more popular have high speed rail.

American sports purists turn up their noses at Soccer because it is usually low scoring....therefore....boring.

Yet, after the Cubs beat the Whitesox 1-0 last night, after both pitchers took no-hitters into the seventh inning, I believe....I was one of the greatest games that they had ever witnessed.

Soccer is okay. I don’t follow it every day or year, for that matter. But, with American sports purists, it’s just a double standard.

Hmmm, interesting correlation, also, most are, or leaning socialist, me thinks.

Soccer is freaking BORING!!! It’s taken until my 40’s to fully grasp the nuances of baseball and I must admit, it’s a pretty cool game.(OK, age and a 52-inch HD plasma TV helped.) The real reason, though, is that Americans are wealthy enough to put their kids in baseball, football, hockey, or any other spectator-friendly sport. As a society, we have our choice of sports to participate in and be spectators of rather than a lengthy, coma-inducing ‘sport’ like soccer. The Left hates the fact that America has more disposable income than the rest of the world. It shows in their love of ‘girly’ sports like soccer and their hatred of ‘manly’ sports like baseball, football and hockey.

Sorry to ramble but I loathe soccer. I would rather watch paint dry or clean out my spice rack than watch a soccer match.

IIRC, the survey mentioned that college football fans tend to be more educated, older and have higher incomes. Possibly, too, based on geography where college football tends to be stronger in the South or traditional GOP areas.

It is so ugly. A well-designed NFL play, where each guy blocks and the runner hits the hole perfectly, is just a thing of beauty. There is no beauty in soccer.

I have a hard time believing that pro-wrestling viewers are a bunch of Democrats.

On the other hand, WNBA furthest left of all, is believable. LOL!!!

LOL!...my friend, who has a 14 yr old son that plays baseball says that if anybody thinks baseball is too slow, try being the official scorekeeper!

That may be because you're thinking of a single play in isolation.

For a soccer fan one player passing to another then to another down the field until someone shoots a goal is also a thing of beauty.

Ghana? Bolivia? Algeria? Paraguay? Mali?

What?

You've never heard of the Ghana Glider, The Bolivian Bullet, The Paraguayan Projectile and the Mali Missile?

Well, at least one person caught the humor of my post #21.

Thanks buccaneer81.

But it will never be a U.S, sport, like jai alai, lacrosse, or tackle cricket.

And don't forget Combat Croquet!

I’m sure I’m “far right” by their standards, and I love soccer.

Rather watch that live than anything else.

“As a Brit ex-pat co-worker of mine says, MLS to European soccer is like Double A baseball is to MLB. “

Ah so, but our crummy little team tied England yesterday, don’t you know? ;)

I myself have seen some beautiful goals and saves. Fantastic footwork, fantastic teamwork, fantastic skills, unbelievable athleticism. Great mental work, too, great strategy.
