It is so ugly. A well-designed NFL play, where each guy blocks and the runner hits the hole perfectly, is just a thing of beauty. There is no beauty in soccer.

That may be because you're thinking of a single play in isolation.

For a soccer fan one player passing to another then to another down the field until someone shoots a goal is also a thing of beauty.

I myself have seen some beautiful goals and saves. Fantastic footwork, fantastic teamwork, fantastic skills, unbelievable athleticism. Great mental work, too, great strategy.
