Right handed Red Sox 3rd baseman Adrian Beltre hit one out of Fenway Park Friday afternoon, striking Nutmeg squarely on the forearm. X-rays revealed a fractured radius. Nutmeg is in good spirits today.
Beltre, with a .335 average and 44 RBI in 2010, was unavailable for comment.

I thought it might cheer ol’ Nutmeg up...:)
Thank you, FRiend... I won't be back in center field during BP - excuuuse me - "hitting rehearsal" - again w/o my trusty Red Sox siut of armor! ;-D
CLANG!!
Thanks NN and please get well Nutmeg! :-)
Hey FRiend... nice to hear from you again, and to see you are stateside in Texas! We think of you and your lovely family often, and send our love! :o)
Thank you for your good wishes... I was treated very well at the "official" Red Sox hospital - Beth Israel Deaconess in Boston - but I wish I could have been treated at YOUR hospital! Hope to see you and your family sometime soon.
(Just to let you know, I'm typing w/ one hand right now, so I'm kinda slow....)
Thanks so much, LadyPilgrim! :o)
Meg, that must have hurt something awful!
How long are you going to be in that cast? And it’s your right hand too! Ouchy!!!
Fixed
ROTFLOL - now that got me laughing.
I wonder what a newbie to this thread will be thinking when seeing a “left” hand but reading the “right hand “ comments, before getting to your Post 147.
[Mr] T
It is a test. If the noobs notice, and remain polite, they pass. If they get snotty, they are doomed, for they have missed the point. :o)
Thanks so much, FRiend.. :o)
LOL! Am I glad I read the part about the hand switch!! I had just gone to the original posting, and if I had seen the pic change without knowing what was done, I would think I was going bats!!
Tara — if I was in your cast,I would not be making capital letters! All lower case would be my easy way out!!
So — how are you doing? Are you able to sleep at night? Is it a waterproof cast, or are showers a no-no. I’ve only had an arm cast one time, and it was no fun. It was when I peeled potatoes, and found I couldn’t do it!!
You do have something great to look forward to, tho. When the cast comes off! What a wonderful feeling!!
La Enchiladita, thanks for the ping.
Our poor nutmeg!! Wish you a speedy recovery and hope we can laugh and enjoy Manny being Manny this weekend.
I’ll be checking in with you as the weekend progresses.
I expect Manny will be “greeted” with his former team’s fans’ sentiments.
Vin Scully will fly out to Bean-town to call the game for us tomorrow. He doesn’t go on the road anymore so this is special. You guys rate!!
:-)
Vin Scully!?! He’s older than me!!!
It should be an entertaining weekend .... except for the Celtics.
Scully is the 8th wonder of the world.
I was at the game at Dodger Stadium a couple of weeks ago and could peer down into the press boxes.
Rick Monday was doing the radio show in one booth, Scully doing TV in another. As we got into the 11th inning, I looked over at Monday and he was mopping his face with a towel, looked exhausted, hot.
Then I looked at Vin: fresh as a daisy, chatting merrily along. In fact, he looked like a daisy in a pale yellow shirt, impeccable, with a tie of course, not a bead of sweat.
I LMAO’d.
awfully painful way to meet a ballplayer! get well soon!
Do you know if Vin Scully will be at Fenway all weekend? The Red Sox kinda owe me one. It's a long shot, but maybe I could get to meet Vin in person!
I can't go to Fenway tomorrow, but maybe Saturday and Sunday...
I would love if you could meet him, but I can’t say. I listened closely to Dodger Talk today and they just stated he is calling the Friday night game. Sorry! I don’t know what his other plans might be.
Get well, nutmeg! :)
ROTFLOL! Thanks, Roscoe... love your work. ;-)
