Tonight is the premier of this seasons "Whale Wars" where a fat guy takes a crew of volunteers thousands of miles into dangerous waters to make a big stink about the Japanese phony research whale killing.

And what does he ever accomplish? Nothing, oh wait a second, I guess he just prompted Australia to take their best trading partner, Japan, to international court over the matter...... but he's stll fat! (s/)

“At Common Law, an intentional act by one person that creates an apprehension in another of an imminent harmful or offensive contact.”

But officer, I’m telling you, that snowball/stink bomb scared me!

Can we leave Snapple out of this? You realize they make plastic bottles too, right?

Great. So go to seashepherd.org and you can find the authority under which captain commander Commadore “yes I’m still fat” Watson operates.

Checked it out. I don't think the Costa Rica warrant is going to hold water in the Antarctic. It was the only one that allowed for enforcement, but it was limited to Costa Rican waters. As for the other “Authority” he states they give him the right to observe and report. Boarding, disabling or attacking a ship on the high seas appears to go beyond his granted authority. Admittedly he doesn't post the entire authorizing documents so I can't be sure. But if he did have that authority why not just board and seize the Japanese ships.

And exceeding granted authority is important. A New York City cop can't go around breaking down doors in Texas.

The slaughter of baby seals, (which they have fought against as well) is disgusting.

Why, because your panties get bunched? It is called wildlife management. I guess you are one of those who think only ugly animals should have their populations controlled! You should do some research and quit forming opinions on emotions. That is what liberals do.

Most eco-terrorists should be imprisoned, not lauded.

watson should be hanged.

Again, a little knowledge misapplied is a dangerous thing.

Innocent until proven guilty is the right of the accused defendant in the US.

Presumption of innocence in the face of slaughtering hundreds of whales in a whale sanctuary under the transparently phony guise of research does not give the Japanese the same rights as the accused on trial in this country.

You have made it obvious that you don't care about the rule of law in any land or on the seas.

Idiot Compassion is responsible for more suffering in the world than any other cause.

Dude, poachers are SHOT in Africa!

Poachers are shot in Africa because they are directly taking money out of the government's pocket. In case you dont' know it, most African nations GNP are hunting safaris, which the government taxes. So, a poacher is shot because he is trying to literally steal from the mafia, so to speak. Your anaology is moot.

Except that the ones the Sea Hippies are using are glass. They showed them making them in season one. After all they need to break when they hit. And they use Snapple bottles because they have a large opening and are easier to load with the rancid butter stuff.

I call it the cuddle factor. It does not help wildlife management or endangered species.

What I think I’ve made obvious is that these brave souls are making a big stink, which is proving effective, and now a grievance has been filed by a major country against these acts of poaching.

On another thread it looks like French fishermen are taking a more active stance than the Japanese.

A GREENPEACE activist trying to free tuna from a commercial fishing net in the Mediterranean was harpooned through the leg by fishermen on a French boat, the environmental group said.

If the Japanese start playing by these rules things will get very interesting indeed.

I have seen the past seasons of Whale Wars. The show has exposed Watson and most of the crew as fools. It would appear that it takes a real, solid fool to support Watson's terrorist tactics.

This season starts of with Watson and crew getting their lunch eaten by the Japanese. The Whalers sent out an airplane to find the terrorists. They then dispatched a lone ship to decoy the terrorists. The terrorists then spent a great deal of season chasing the decoy while the rest of the Whaling fleet killed Whales. The decoy ship also was forced to slice a terrorist ship in half as it crossed in front of the decoy.

The Japanese should do the same thing. Hose them down with lead and sink their ship next time they interfere. That should raise enough of a stink to get Maritime authorities involved and prosecute and further eco-piracy.

, that is why Australia has just taken Japan to court over this issue.

That is not the reason

The slaughter of baby seals, (which they have fought against as well) is disgusting.

Tell that to the polar bears, who take most of the baby seals that are born, along with some adults. I'm sure the polar bear will rethink his methods if he knew it was disgusting.

Also, tell that to the various marine species those seals would feed on throughout their lives- seals aren't vegetarians- they need to kill to stay fat and happy. I suppose those marine lives don't matter to econuts, though, because they are not cute and fuzzy and the seals do the killing below the ice where the blood is unseen by the camera's eyes and doesn't bother sensitive people's feelings.

What difference does it make which predator gets them, man, polar bear, or killer whale? It make no difference to the seals, and you will never see an activist outraged at the bears and orcas.

Also, what i really like about both videos is that right after the whaler slams into the Batboat, the sailor manning the water cannon hits 'em again for good measure. Outstanding.

You can almost hear him ..."have a bath you stinking sea hippie!" WOOOSH!

One can only hope ...

One can also hope for paul watson's pirate ship to get stuck in ice.
