DETROIT (AP) -- Armando Galarraga of the Detroit Tigers lost his bid for a perfect game Wednesday night with two outs in the ninth inning on a disputed call at first base. Replays appeared to show Cleveland hitter Jason Donald was out.
Tigers manager Jim Leyland immediately argued the call with first base umpire Jim Joyce, and was joined by several Detroit players who surrounded the ump after the Tigers beat the Indians 3-0.

Amazing two perfect games in a week or two. But now I guess there's just one. Absolutely disgusting. It wasn't even close.

C’mon, Bud. You need to overturn this.
Out by a mile! Thanks for the video link.
So you didn’t get your way, now you want to change it after the fact. Sounds like a whining lib.
I was watching the game tonight as a lonely Tribe fan and desparately wanted to see the perfect game broken up but not in this way. The only explanation that the umpire might have is that he thought that the pitcher was bobbling the ball. He can never umpire in Detroit again.
The home plate ump should have seen it and over ruled the call. He may have made a mistake also on such an obviously bad call.
They can’t overturn it but everyone who pays attention to baseball will know it was a perfect game despite a crappy call by an ump.
How life imitates baseball... or vice versa.
MLB needs to step in and award that young man his perfect game. The feat is incredible and he was royally ripped off.
Screw it, I’m blaming ACORN.
There are people saying on youtube that they are going to kill him.
the catch that was made in the outfield earlier was terrific....I’m watching the Yanks beat up on the Oreo’s, but they broke away from this game to cover the blown call...
Kind of like the real all-time HR king is Aaron and Maris is the single season HR leader.
Bud Selig should do the right thing, award the perfect game and not add an asterisk either, except to say this patcher was forced to get 28 outs to make 27 count.
It has nothing to do with me, buttmunch. It’s the right thing to do. Maybe you aren’t familiar with that concept.
I watched it live, and that's what stuck out to me. I feel bad for Galarraga, but I almost feel worse for the ump. He's had many good years in MLB, and he'll be living with this forever now.
Whatever.
And I’m a Royals fan, and I know that game 6th call was bad. But at least the Cards had a chance to come back in game 7 and they blew it.
BTW, I spent the last four years living in St. Louis, and attended several Cards games at the old Busch stadium, and the new one. I root for them now. But then, look where the Royals are.
(You have to look lower than that!!!)
First pitcher to record 28 outs in nine innings.
