“Since You Asked: Best Buy website offers jobs in Medford”
June 19, 2010
SNIPPET: “I see construction workers are going to town on the new Best Buy store at Poplar Square. How soon will they start taking applications for those of us looking for jobs?
Leah J., White City
With Best Buy’s targeted opening date two months away, that’s a question crossing a lot of minds these days, what with unemployment still trucking along well above 10 percent in Southern Oregon.
According to Best Buy corporate spokeswoman Jill Nezworski, the electronics retailer will hold a job fair at some point, but she advises going to the company’s website now.
Job candidates should go to the website at www.bestbuy.com and click on “Careers” under the “Corporate Info” heading near the bottom of the page on the right.”

SNIPPET: “Doyon Government Group, which this month opened a 4,600-square-foot office in the Newport News City Center with 11 workers, plans to add 14 more workers this year, the alliance said. The jobs will have an average salary of $65,000.
The company, which is involved in construction, security and financial services, had $110 million in revenue last year and expects to generate $145 million in 2010, said Brent Meis-ner, Doyon’s senior vice president.
The company is working on about $30 million in contracts, including some construction projects in Hampton Roads and others in the Washington, D.C., area, he said.”
