THE MOST MATHEMETICALLY BEAUTIFUL CROP CIRCLE DISCOVERED
Faded Tribune ^ | staff reporter

Posted on 06/01/2010 12:32:53 PM PDT by Daffynition

A crop circle measuring some 300 feet diameter has appeared in a field of oil seed rape near Wilton Windmill in Wiltshire, England.

The pattern of dashes and spaces against each of the lines coming out of the centre forms the binary code for symbols and letters of the alphabet which feature in Euler’s Identity, a complex formula devised by the 18th Century Swiss mathematician Leonhard Euler.

Lucy Pringle, crop circle researcher and author says: “I believe it contains binary. Working from the centre outwards, people are suggesting it has a connection to Leonhard Euler’s theorem e^(i)pi+1=0 which is thought to be one of the most beautiful theorems in mathematics. Historically over the years, crop circles have been associated with diatonic scales (white notes on the piano). These diatonic scale frequencies are encoded in each segment of the crop circle and can be played on the piano. This is a unique formation incorporating both music and mathematics and is similar in importance to the famous 2008 Barbury Castle Pi event.”

It’s a compact equation that contains the constants that excite mathematicians, physicists and computer scientists the most. Not all of them, but enough to be amazing.

After mega computer computations ... it appears that the crop circle represents the number 42 ... or ... the phone number for Ivana Humpalot

However, the way the formula has been executed is partially incorrect.
Ah ha! Aliens would never make a mistake so it has to be man made.

Euler’s formula is used to define circles on a plane with a real axis and an imaginary axis.
Thx ...

“It is just Euler’s formula e^(ix) = cos x + i sin x when x=pi. Euler’s formula is used to define circles on a plane with a real axis and an imaginary axis.”

I believe Ferris wrote this formula on his day off. What? It’s EULER? Sorry. Never mind.

My wife and I battle over what direction to mow the lawn...I’m an east-west mower, and the sweet wife likes to mow diagonal...so I let her do the mowing so she isn’t annoyed.
