Thanks for posting those pics. Interesting.
And yarn bombing is wrong also?
If it is not your tree, it is wrong. Pretty easy answer - did not even have to look in the back of the book for that one.
I’d like to have that Packard door front. That’s worth saving.
You are an epic genius!!! ;-D
FWIW, you’re BETTER than Banksy!
Well isn’t that special.
put some cap up in this sis
I'm not sure how this panned out:
The construction of the Packard factory did not go unnoticed by either the press or the industry: it was the most attractive manufacturing facility in Detroit and certainly the most advanced in the world for building automobiles. Motor Age noted not only Kahns structural innovations, but also the buildings more human attributes: When a man buys a Packard he gets a machine that was made by workmen who toil in pleasant surroundings, for if there is one thing more than another which characterizes the new factory it is the bright, clean and cheerful aspect of the different departments.
Well, Packard has long since come and gone, and thanks to the slow sinking of Detroit into the sea (its only slow because the oceans so far away), the building still stands. For a little while, as theres demolition looming. But before the wreckers come, the original main entrance had damn well better come down in one piece, and its going up for auction at RMs Meadowbrook sale in Rochester, Michigan, on August 2nd. Buyer will be responsible for the lot and its safekeeping and removal immediately following the auctioneers declaration of sale, they tell us, although a contractor will be available for immediate engagement to disassemble and pack the facade on pallets for shipment to the buyers car building. Its actually owned by a well-known Detroit-area collectible car dealer, but we dont know if hes got the whole building, or somehow just the facade.
Graffiti is graffiti. If it isn’t yours to write on, it is vandalism. I don’t care what your message is, do it to your own property and it’s your business
Looks like people posting messages on “THEIR” property to me. That’s not graffiti
To be the curator of an art museum, you have to be able to throw down some po-mo lingo when the occasion calls for it.
Great audio cut from “Atlas Shrugged”. The scary reality is the Packard Company is the 20’th Century Motor Company.
Thanks for the link. I like the artistry in the design of many older buildings and houses.
Mortar target practice?
omg. that cannot be good for the tree or the animals that live on it. Gay gangs are the worst! and the drive-by name calling is just wrong
