Endless beer supply fills infield for Preakness ($20 to have an unlimited supply of cold brew)

BALTIMORE – The best thing about paying for an endless supply of beer is that it doesn't matter if you spill a cup.

Enticed by the prospect of refilling their souvenir beer mugs from morning until dusk, thousands flocked to the Pimlico infield Saturday for the Preakness.

One year ago, after Pimlico officials ended the practice of allowing fans to bring their own beer to the event, no longer were fans in danger of getting hit by flying, filled cans.

But who comes to a party where there's a limited supply of beer? Not many, judging by the vast empty spaces in an infield that used to be overrun with people.

Fans still can't tote their own beer, but this year they were given the option of spending an extra $20 to have an unlimited supply of cold brew.

Sounds like a good way to ‘get your citrus’ for the week.

And like all pro sports, at the end of the race the police will be out there waving everyone into traffic. Not a breathalyzer in sight. What a farce. It’s ok to drink n drive if you are paying $8.00 a beer and as long as you get it at the stadium.

With enough pineapple juice ... not many pure alcohols taste good. I didn’t have my first taste of straight tequila until I was in my forties. I was surprised I liked the agave flavor as imparted by aging in a wooden cask. A ‘shooter’ to me is a tablespoon of straight dark tequila. More and it blunts being able to taste the agave.

The first and only time I was in the Preakness Infield I was piss drunk and saw Secretariat almost half lap the field paying 2.05 on 2.00 to win.
You really were drunk. It was the Belmont Stakes.

An eye-opener is the infield at the Kentucky Derby

Women in line for the mens restroom and stepping over passed out drunks at lunch time

I certainly hope this includes an ample supply of overly indulged bare TA TAs as part of the mix....

So do you want some sort of police state, where being at an event where alcohol is consumed subjects you to mandatory inspection of your blood contents?
