[history]
I just switched from pro life to pro choice because I am a liberal who likes watching babies die and from pro gun to anti gun because I don't give a crap about my property or the safety of my family. I've always supported amnesty for illegal aliens. Because I profit off helping them steal identities..

Too bad you can’t check out books at the airport.
It looks like we’re going to have a thunderstorm.

We’ll attack them again if we have to! My neighbor said I could dismember her lugustrum, too, if I was still feeling hostile.

I have a 5 pound pick mattock that I had to buy to dig up buried logs.
I’m told it works wonders on this wandering bamboo garbage we have growing here.

I have that exact item, too ... but a shovel, backed by Tom’s substantial weight, worked better on the lugustrum stumps and roots. We use the heavy mattock (we also have medium and light) to break ground for new garden beds.

I’m a short skinny lightweight, so fo rme I have to blast rip or shred holes in the ground.
Unfortunately, being light means I have no bulk to toss behind a shovel.

"Unfortunately, being light means I have no bulk to toss behind a shovel." Actually, what it means is that you have to do things scientifically. Keep your shovel sharp, and use it to divide the material to be shoveled.
Once the ground is softened up, leverage comes into play. As with heavy shovels of snow, drag the shovel back with its load instead of lifting it. When ready to lift, use a minimum arc to get the load where it needs to be. Use one arm, or even a knee, as a fulcrum for this motion.
Take smaller amounts, and set a steady pace.
My only problem with shoveling is that I was twice your age, five years ago. My shovel is getting old.
If you'd like, we can invent a shovel for old men. I know how to do it, but we'll need to make prototypes.
