I just switched from Republican to Democrat (Viking Kitties secretly switched his meds)

I just switched from pro life to pro choice because I am a liberal who likes watching babies die and from pro gun to anti gun because I don't give a crap about my property or the safety of my family. I've always supported amnesty for illegal aliens. Because I profit off helping them steal identities..

Ohmy. No chocolate in ‘Facetown, and you present me with this? *drool*

It may be enough to push me over the edge and brave the 113 heat on the pavement to go to an A/C mini-mart and.... *swoon* no. I- I can’t. Don’t make me.

PLEASE! Help! (she says, as she is dragged out the door...)

:oþ

The store is just waiting to be plundered in the cause of Liberty.

Unfortunately not. There wouldn’t be time either, undercurrent planning.

That’s about the age I learned — after flunking my first swim class. (Throwing a kid who doesn’t know how to swim into deep water still doesn’t seem like a good idea.) But a year or two later I taught myself how to swim underwater, and from there to the surface and then to a swim team.

Ouch!

Summer has arrived in Seattle. The rain is warm.

Almost 100 here. I went to pick Elen up at a friend’s house, and the road was blocked both ways because of an accident. I’ll have to go back later.

Dad used to take us to the “local” pool (the town had 500 people and an indoor pool, but I have no clue which came first!) about once a week when we first moved down from Alaska.

Given the choice, swimming would be my only exercise.

Ouch. I hate to see that happen. Anywhere, any time, to anyone.

Seaman Anoreth returns to Borneo:

*****

We are back on Borneo again ... Malaysia, this time. It looks, from a distance, like it will be a good port call. Very scenic, and the water doesn't appear to be full of sewage (although there were some jellyfish as big as truck tires in the bay, so I have my doubts about whether going swimming is a good idea or not.) I haven't seen anything other than the dock yet, and may not for a while. Bosun suddenly decided, for no apparent reason, that we have to replace the nonskid coating all down the starboard side decks, which will take at least a full day of work and probably more. Kind of a pain, as I actually want to get a chance to see some of Malaysia. It seems to be scenic and tourist-ish, like Brunei, but you can drink and there are various terrorist organizations hanging around.

The Malay equivalent of the Coast Guard is a complete rip-off of the USCG, including the racing stripe and paint scheme. We're in a place called Mulut, which is about 5 square miles. They have the crews of MELLON and a large Navy ship (500 people, all told) running around in this tiny space, not allowed to leave the town. We may, quite literally, drink the place dry by the time we get underway later this week.

Accident involving a minivan, a car, and a motorcycle. They had several girls over, all stuck until ... whenever. I’ll had over there again in about half an hour.

I stopped at Harris Teeter and got DP a 12-pack of “Land Shark.”

It’s on markdown, so they were out of 6-packs.

During the summer I practically lived at the pool. It was a huge octagonal or maybe circular (it’s been a LONG time) pool. Sadly, I looked it up on Google Earth and it’s gone now.

Anoreth herself is not going to drink the town dry: she doesn’t like getting sick, and you get plenty of nausea punting across the Pacific on a little boat ;-).

I liked the sheer terror part. Too bad we can’t send something like that to some politicians.

Looks like the Tea Party choice for Senate here is giving Reid a run for his money. We’ll know a little more tomorrow evening.

Let’s hope the bestid doesn’t think he can run for POTUS.

The term must come from "jackleg" which is an old southern term for somebody who isn't really qualified to do what they're doing.

As in "jackleg preacher", "jackleg carpenter" or "jackleg mechanic". Although an amateur mechanic is usually a "shade tree mechanic" = no shop, works under a shade tree.
