I just switched from pro life to pro choice because I am a liberal who likes watching babies die and from pro gun to anti gun because I don't give a crap about my property or the safety of my family. I've always supported amnesty for illegal aliens. Because I profit off helping them steal identities..

I’ve noticed that, too.

WOW!

What a deal! Lots of seniors prefer to RV after the kids are gone. Various reasons are cited, but I think the biggest is just to kick of the traces and find greener grass and other things to look at.

Keep me posted on that!

I just have to figure out how to cut about a 9" thick section of root out of a hole that is already 3' deep.

Have you got room to slip a wire saw underneath?

That would work, except for the lack of a wire saw... I have been meaning to pick up two of them. One is a standard survival toy, diamond impregnated wire with rings on either end. The other looks like a chain-saw blade with wooden handles and a carrying case.

I still think using the ice breaker will work. 3" chisel point on a 20lbs steel bar. Oughta make short work of it. I just need to find the time to swing in at my Dad's place and pick it up.

Root wood is relatively soft. Once you've got enough dirt dug away, just use an old handsaw. The dirt will do a number on its teeth, but if it's already dull, you won't care.

A short-handled mattock would be the tool of choice, but you probably don't have that either. It looks like the offspring of a hoe and an axe. What's good about it is that the blade is at right angles to the handle, allowing you to clear the roots from within the hole.

I'd lend you mine, but ...

Also known as a grub hoe. This one is used by the Forestry Service. It's called a Pulaski Forester Axe.

Try to please too. Long day writing a 2-page white paper that became a 4-page white paper and with a little rework a possible candidate for a magazine article.
