Rigs Do Explode, if they blow-in and the preventer fails.

Had a good friend in College who was the only survivor of a blow-out and rig fire. Back in the mid 1960’s.

It is possible that someone torched it, but I am very doubtful that happened. Drilling for oil has always been a very risky and dangerous business.

And rigs do sink.

The Ocean Ranger went down in 1982 with no survivors of the 84 man crew.

Agreed, however it's the timing and the motivations of this administration and those with like interests that make it suspect. Shutting down all off shore drilling and deploying SWAT teams to all drilling platforms? To conduct "inspections"?!? WTF....
