You need to slow down to get to Venus.... a solar drag sail would do the trick.

Orbital tacking I suppose. It’s amazing what a sloop can do with wind blowing “the wrong way”.

We are falling behind technologically. Glad for Japan, but not a good sign for the USA.

like a sail boat, think ‘Tacking’.

in tacking you get the most speed when you are 90° from the wind...

the wind is the sun

you aim for where the target will be, not is. as Venus is directly inboard only for short periods, you (almost)parallel the earths orbit and move inward at the same time.
