I used to work at a large Summer retreat. The food was great but every Summer there would be at least one case of just about everyone coming down with food poisoning.
All the cooks were Black tho I actually don’t think they were sabotaging the food. For one thing we always had a real good relationship with all the kitchen crew. Still when I returned around 40 years later, the cooks were all White and we never had another case of food poisoning.
The food wasn’t as good but it might have more to do with the food budget than preparation. I will say the food service supervisor was really strict on cleanliness.
There's no reason on earth why some people go so easily into rages. I figure they must be democrats - unhappy with everything and everyone (always affixing blame) and demanding perfection in an imperfect world (no tolerance for any view except their own).
The cliche about those kids spitting in the burger is not a myth, especially if cops start rolling in. Since high school, I’ve witnessed it a couple of times. I didn’t do it per se because I believe in karma.
That’s why I prefer eating at In N Out or any diner where you actually see the dude make the burger in front of you.
I only eat at fast food restaurants where I can see the food being prepared. I also check the health department (State of Texas has Health Department inspection results available online) inspection reports. Finally, if the bathroom is dirty, don’t eat there.
Cops get their food spit in a lot.
I’m sure it’s gone on forever, but I noticed a huge uptick in the publicity after Roots came out and at the end they had a scene where Cicily Tyson spit in Sandy Duncan’s water cup. After that, I started hearing about this a lot more.
My first job as a teen was in a chain restaurant which taught me two things:
I rarely eat at restaurants and I never give a hard time to anyone that touches my food in any way, even the bus boy.
Some people have a lot of rage in their hearts and take it out on the most powerless person they can find. Unfortunately, that’s sometimes the poor guy or gal behind the counter at a fast food restaurant.

My father hated family eating at restaurants with my grandmother (his MIL), and soon refused, as she would always complain, no matter what, to get free desserts, coffees, etc (she’s a Dem). Years later, I now realize why. I love my dad, he’s so wise.
Yep. I worked in food service a couple of years. I always did my best to make people follow the rules, but I’ve hear so many stories, I virtually NEVER eat out. (I was a cook for a couple years, so I can make anything I want, at half the price or less, and just to my tastes).
one of the best reasons for not eatingh out and packing a lunch yourself. Oh the spitter must have been a real birdbrain if he couldn’t spit with out getting caught.

Yeah, someone said that. I understand that feeling, but never have, when in that line of business, and never would do something like that. But that is the exception, not the rule. Never annoy/anger/pester food service workers, ever, they’ll remember...and are generally unforgiving.
These kind of suits is like shark fishing, you throw chum in the water till you catch one. They sue everybody till someone comes up with some money.
I wonder how much of the tax-payers money was spent on DNA-checking that cheeseburger.
Given all the other stuff on a whopper, how the heck would you tell there’s spit in it?
And if I was being mean, how could you ever tell there’s spit in a whopper? Isn’t that part of them anyway? Given fast food restaurants use ammonia-nized meat in their patties (the cheapest meat possible, toss some ammonia in it to kill off any bad bacteria in it to salvage it as edible), I think spit may be one of the lesser bad things coming in your whopper.

I was often the heavy about cooks washing their hands after going to the bathroom. Other managers were not as watchful about it, but the bathroom door handle is not safe, and the gloves can be contaminated by dirty hands.
As for racism — I’ve never worked with anyone as nasty as the rev’rund [with the exception of someone threatening me with a knife], but I do know racism can work both ways. I know more than I can say about it. Even if someone acts extra-friendly, that can also be a danger sign [sad to say].
I can tell you this — an immigrant worked with me in a temp job [nothing to do with fast food]. His coworkers refused to eat at his place because he bragged about working in a reataurant once, and he got even with a customer by wiping himself in the bathroom with a bun.

Someone goes to add pepper, salt, or ketchup, and sees some slimy spittle on his burger, he just might get suspicious, especially a law enforcer.
Money well spent. This will put a chilling effect in that kind of BS.
I despise when anyone treats people badly for ANY reason. Our children have had hispanic and black friends all along in their lives and judge people by their character, not their color. There seems to be an abundance of less than honorable people of every skin color filling our nation's prisons and jails.
