A very touching story. It should remind us orthodox Christians that LDS families often seem to live as Christians should, but do not.

Thank you for your encouraging vignette. It is a reminder that life in America is not really about the drama of politics but of ordinary human beings relating to one another. You have painted a picture with words that invites contemplation.

A touching reflection of your friendship. Condolences on the loss of your friend.

Thanks again everyone, for answering the question: "How does a nice Catholic gal pay proper respect to her LDS neighbor?" Or...
"How does a nice Catholic gal pay proper respect to her Baptist neighbor?"
"How does a nice Catholic gal pay proper respect to her Hindu neighbor?"
"How does a nice Catholic gal pay proper respect to her agnostic neighbor?"
"How does a nice Catholic gal pay proper respect to her Catholic neighbor?"
"How does a nice Catholic gal pay proper respect to her Muslim neighbor?"

Since you were gardening buddies and you grow roses, it would be a nice tribute to take a few single roses to some of your local nursing homes, perhaps to some of the elderly who don't get visitors.
To the usual suspects, sorry to interrupt a good "Mormons aren't Christians" bashfest...I personally find it very disrespectful to hijack a thread like this one for such a purpose. Bitterness sometimes gets the best of people sometimes, I believe...magritte
