Well ya didnt bother with the courtesy and niceties of PINGing ejonesie22 and me but I found my way to answer ya any way...

From your # 40

Tennesse Nana: you said
Jesus said to flib and the mormons, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man or woman comes to the Father except by me.” John 14:6

flib: I agree, which would be why I have accepted Christ as my savior and so have my LDS friends.
___________________________________________

flib it was the Jesus of the Christian Bible who said that...

mormons do not believe the Jesus of the Christian Bible...

mormons do not believe the Christian Bible...

mormons do not accept the LORD Jesus Christ of the Christian Bible as Savior...

the mormons worship Joey Smith as savior and another jesus and another god...actually godS

mormons are not Christians...

The mormons sing praise songs to Joey Smith...

The Christians sing praise songs to Jesus...

The mormons say that Christans worship a different Jesus...

Not the same Jesus
“There are those outside the Church who say Latter-day Saints do not believe in the traditional Christ.

No, I don’t. The traditional Christ of whom they speak is not the Christ of whom I speak.”

– LDS President Gordon B. Hinckley (LDS Church News, June 20, 1998)

“It is true that many of the Christian churches worship a different Jesus Christ than is worshipped by the Mormons.” – LDS publication, Ensign Magazine, May 1977, p. 26

. “Are Christians ignorant? Yes, as ignorant of the things of God as the brute beast” (Journal of Discourses, John Taylor [3rd Mormon President], 13:225).

“Believers in the doctrines of modern Christendom will reap damnation to their souls (Morm. 8; Moro. 8)” (Mormon Doctrine, 1966, Bruce R. McConkie, 177).

“He (Joseph Smith) is the man through whom God has spoken... yet I would not like to call him a savior, though in a certain capacity he was a god to us, and is to the nations of the earth, and will continue to be.”
- Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses 8:321

“You call us fools; but the day will be, gentlemen and ladies, whether you belong to this Church or not, when you will prize brother Joseph Smith as the Prophet of the Living God, and look upon him as a god...”
- Herber C. Kimball, Journal of Discourses 5:88

“If we get our salvation, we shall have to pass by him [Joseph Smith]; if we enter our glory, it will be through the authority he has received. We cannot get around him [Joseph Smith]”
- (as quoted in 1988 Melchizedek Priesthood Study Guide, p. 142)

There is “no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith. If Joseph Smith was verily a prophet, and if he told the truth...no man can reject that testimony without incurring the most dreadful consequences, for he cannot enter the kingdom of God”
- Joseph Fielding Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, p.190

“I know that Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God, that this is the Gospel of salvation, and if you do not believe it you will be damned, every one of you”
(Journal of Discourses 4:298, March 29, 1857).

On October 9, 1859, Young said,
“From the day that the Priesthood was taken from the earth to the winding-up scene of all things, every man and woman must have the certificate of Joseph Smith, junior, as a passport to their entrance into the mansion where God and Christ are — I with you and you with me. I cannot go there without his consent”
(Journal of Discourses 7:289).

Your # 40

Ejonse22 you wrote: Catholics and Orthodox pray THROUGH saints, as intercessors to God on their behalf, not TO them.

Let me refer to to Nana’s statement above..... Ummm no one gets to the father except by Christ.... soooo are Catholics a cult and not christian? There are probably a few judgemental pharisees on this thread who would think so.
_____________________________________________

Kid that wasnt my statemment...

I’m not that smart...

I was quoting the Jesus of the Christians from the Christian Bible...

Jesus said to flib and the mormons, “I am the Way, the truth, and the Life. No man or woman comes to the Father except by me.” Jophn 14:6

The mormons believe they can get to God through Joey Smith...

Jesus says “No way. The mormons have got to come through Me just like anyone else.” John 14:6

The mormons believe they can get to God through Joey Smith...

It sure APPEARS that way!

"He (Joseph Smith) is the man through whom God has spoken... yet I would not like to call him a savior, though in a certain capacity he was a god to us, and is to the nations of the earth, and will continue to be."
 - Brigham Young, Journal of Discourses 8:321

"You call us fools; but the day will be, gentlemen and ladies, whether you belong to this Church or not, when you will prize brother Joseph Smith as the Prophet of the Living God, and look upon him as a god..."
- Herber C. Kimball, Journal of Discourses 5:88

"If we get our salvation, we shall have to pass by him [Joseph Smith]; if we enter our glory, it will be through the authority he has received. We cannot get around him [Joseph Smith]"
- (as quoted in 1988 Melchizedek Priesthood Study Guide, p. 142)

There is "no salvation without accepting Joseph Smith. If Joseph Smith was verily a prophet, and if he told the truth...no man can reject that testimony without incurring the most dreadful consequences, for he cannot enter the kingdom of God"
- Joseph Fielding Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 1, p.190

"I tell you, Joseph holds the keys, and none of us can get into the celestial kingdom without passing by him. We have not got rid of him, but he stands there as the sentinel, holding the keys of the kingdom of God; and there are many of them beside him. I tell you, if we get past those who have mingled with us, and know us best, and have a right to know us best, probably we can pass all other sentinels as far as it is necessary, or as far as we may desire. But I tell you, the pinch will be with those that have mingled with us, stood next to us, weighed our spirits, tried us, and proven us: there will be a pinch, in my view, to get past them. The others, perhaps, will say, If brother Joseph is satisfied with you, you may pass. If it is all right with him, it is all right with me. Then if Joseph shall say to a man, or if brother Brigham say to a man, I forgive you your sins, "Whosoever sins ye remit they are remitted unto them;" if you who have suffered and felt the weight of transgression—if you have generosity enough to forgive the sinner, I will forgive him: you cannot have more generosity than I have. I have given you power to forgive sins, and when the Lord gives a gift, he does not take it back again."
 - Orson Hyde, Journal of Discourses, Vol. 6, p.154-155

"It is because the Lord called Joseph Smith that salvation is again available to mortal men.... If it had not been for Joseph Smith and the restoration, there would be no salvation,"
 - Bruce McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, p. 396, 670

Your relationship is with God, and you will be held accountable not just for what you have done with your faith, but also what you have not done ...

It is an AWESOME responsibility: owning a BIBLE.

 “Praise to the Man” is worship.

It IS??

Who knew!

Praise to the Man!

Praise to the man who communed with Jehovah!
Jesus annointed that Prophet and Seer.
Blessed to open the last dispensation,
Kings shall extol him, and nations revere.

Chorus
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.

Praise to his mem'ry, he died as a martyr;
Honored and blest be his ever great name!
Long shall his blood, which was shed by assasins,
Plead unto heav'n while the earth lauds his fame.

Chorus
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.

Great is his glory and endless his priesthood.
Ever and ever the keys he will hold.
Faithful and true he will enter his kingdom,
Crowned in the midst of the prophets of old.

Chorus
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with Gods, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.

Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven;
Earth must atone for the blood of that man.
Wake up the world for the conflict of justice.
Millions shall know 'Brother Joseph' again.

Chorus
Hail to the Prophet, ascended to heaven!
Traitors and tyrants now fight him in vain.
Mingling with
Gods
, he can plan for his brethren;
Death cannot conquer the hero again.

So very true. I know I shouldn’t be amazed, but I am, at the number of people who OWN a Bible yet don’t bother to READ it or try to UNDERSTAND it.

Since you were gardening buddies and you grow roses, it would be a nice tribute to take a few single roses to some of your local nursing homes, perhaps to some of the elderly who don't get visitors.

To the usual suspects, sorry to interrupt a good "Mormons aren't Christians" bashfest...I personally find it very disrespectful to hijack a thread like this one for such a purpose. Bitterness sometimes gets the best of people sometimes, I believe...magritte

Thanks for the ping Nana. I would respond with with something in the way of furthering the argument but when one can't even get the answer right in front of them, right inside the very statement they are trying to argue counter to, not much I can do with that.

Kinda like the logic of someone saying “I want A”, then after being handed “A”, they complain mightily about not having “A”...

At that point you walk away shaking your head and perhaps snickering a bit...

But I can see where the poster gets their ideas of about Mormonism...
