WHAT DEFINES a Christian????? ACCEPTANCE of JESUS CHRIST as your savior.....

Jesus the brother of Lucifer? Jesus that was the product of of physical sexual intercourse between God and Mary?

I don't accept that Jesus. Does that make me not a Christian?

( As a Baptist you are called to do that too) That they tithe? ( again, I bet you do that)

Yes but I've never had to show my income tax return to a church official to prove it.

I call the LDS church a ‘cult’ not based upon tithing (which by the way i DON”T do - because I do not limit it to only 10% - I give as I am led which is often more)

Praise God, you have the right attitude! All we have came from God.

I do not know where you get the idea that Lutheran baptism is not accepted by Baptist. Perhaps a local Church made such a request of a new member

Southern Baptist Churches are autonomous and acceptance varies from church to church.

I was "sprinkled" by a Lutheran Chaplain and that was not acceptable with the Baptist Church I joined.

Jesus said to flib and the mormons, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man or woman comes to the Father except by me.” John 14:6

Amen! and that's regardless of what B.Young said that we need old Joe's approval to get in.

I knew some Buddhists once and THEY were very nice, too!

You reminded me. Our Pastor told us just this past Sunday, that one of our missionaries that we support, witnessed to two Buddhist Monks and as a result they have accepted Jesus as Savior!

I don't know how one attains "Monkhood" but these two were only 19 years old.

The same way you would pay respect to your Methodist neighbor.

FTR, I am NOT Baptist, you just assumed that. I used to work for a couple of Baptist Churches several years ago (as a youth leader/director at one and a secretary/teacher at the school attached to the other).

I have always been non denominational since leaving the LDS.

I’ll be damned if I will point fingers because a lot of their interpretation of Bible is different than mine.

- - - - -
their interpretation of the Bible is different from GOD’s. Apparently yours is too.

It is not your fault, proper Christian instruction in this liberal age is hard to come by regardless of the denomination,

So very true and so very much a problem.

HOW we worship differs.

- - - - -
NO, WHO we worship differs. The LDS do not worship Christ, they only worship God the Father (a separate and distinct God) and I can source that if you wish, but I don’t expect a response.

Sigh...

Do some research. the Control goes against moral purity or even a health code, that isn’t control. And all the restrictions are mentioned in the Bible as well. You obviously have no idea of what Mormonism really does to it’s members - far beyond health and moral codes, to the point of describing your sex life to your Bishop, how long your shorts are, the neckline of your clothes which can be considered immodest even if it isn’t. What to read, what to watch, who to associate with, I can go on and on and on and on.

I had a roommate at BYU who got sent home from school (college) because her shorts were JUST ABOVE THE KNEE! That is abuse of power in a big way.

Jews are not a cult, they are God’s chosen people. Christianity is a fulfillment of Judaism and the Law.

And BTW, there are cults of Judaism as well that follow the same guidelines as Christian cults.

If it makes you feel better to condemn me and call me self righteous then go right ahead. My conscience is clear before God. I am not self righteous in the least, I know I am a sinner saved by Grace and that I am called to do what I do.

I left the LDS church (wasn’t shunned either), and still have many LDS friends. My problem isn’t with LDS members (although I feel terribly sorry for them and worry about them being on the fast track to Hell), my problem is with the LDS CHURCH that keeps their members enslaved and the blasphemies they spew.

But more and more my problem is with people who claim to be Christians yet either promulgate or allow without defense the lies, slander and blasphemies about Jesus Christ that the LDS (and JW’s and some others) do so often.

I am SICK AND TIRED OF PEOPLE WHO CALL THEMSELVES CHRISTIANS YET ADOPT THIS LIVE AND LET LIVE ATTITUDE AND DON’T SEEM TO CARE ABOUT ANYONE ELSE’S SALVATION OTHER THAN THEMSELVES. HOW SELFISH IS THAT?!?!

THOSE WHO DO NOT DEFEND CHRIST FROM THE MOCKERS (like the LDS), MOCK HIM THEMSELVES.

Your relationship is with God, and you will be held accountable not just for what you have done with your faith, but also what you have not done (like share it with those who so desperately need to hear it).

Satan has a powerful hold on the LDS and so called Christians who let them slander Jesus Christ.

Oh, and tell Oprah I said “hi”. /s

So I gues you don’t have a clue because LDS do not worship smith,

=- - - - - - - -
“Praise to the Man” is worship.

But they are NOT to worship Christ - I can source that.

and LDS members worship JESUS CHRIST

But the one MORMONism describers is, shall we say, a bit different One that Christians all know and love.

and since you must know, elsie, No, my husband is not a member of the LDS church any longer.

Well; now I just MUST know what he is.

Jack Mormon?

Plain ol' Apostate?

A member of the Catholic group?

Or maybe Protestant?

Of maybe just and agnostic or atheist?

Inquiring minds DO want to know.
