Matthew 6:25-34
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

I am not a great one for faith at the moment but hopefully the above verse will bring you some comfort

There must be some resources where you live. Unemployment compensation, medicaid, welfare, something. There are people who have NEVER worked and they seem to be doing okay. I do pray for your situation.
I do not know what you do, but if you can consider overseas work, (like Aghanistan,) try RMS and Fluor they hire for food preparation to Engineering services. The pay is pretty good too.

Wish I could offer more than prayers. But God is a powerful God, and he knows what you are up against. I am the same age as you , and I could not imagine the hardship at this age to lose my job and have to start over.
Do you belong to a church? I had friends who were out of work and the church did alot for them. You just have to ask!
Also, if you could do something like in home child care, lots of busy Moms(like my daughters) look for summer help. It just takes commitment and love to do that job!
Good luck and no, you are not alone. Think of us as your “family of choice”. sometimes that trumps the other kind of family anyway. :-)
The Lord will give you comfort and strength, you need to lean on him stronger through these trying times. We all know what you’re going through and have our prayers. See what you can do to keep your apt. The Lord’s comfort through the Obamanomics. Go door to door looking for any work.
