I hope I am wrong, but I see something very inconsistent with this POW situation. I am an Army combat arms veteran and I have worked in Iraq and Afghanistan, so I feel that I am somewhat qualified to bring up a doubt I am having regarding this story. First off, PFC Bergdahl is the only U.S. service member being held captive in Afghanistan. That makes his situation unique and different than normal. I find the assorted still-photos of him wearing various stages of an Army uniform very peculiar. If/when he was captured, why would he have on his person a full combat uniform, as well as, a full PT (physical training) uniform? This makes no sense to me. Did they capture him and then send for his belongings? Although that is humorous question, how else can it be explained? There are still-photos of him wearing not only his Kevlar helmet with BDU uniform, but there is one of him wearing the long-sleeve gray Army PT shirt, and one of him wearing the Army PT wind breaker as well. There is also a shot of him wearing the BDU soft cap. How did he get all of these specific clothing items? It is almost as if he "packed" for the occasion. Not only do the clothing items raise my curiousity, but the mere fact that a captive of the Taliban would be allowed to wear so many different U.S. military uniform ensembles does not compute. The taliban goes around villages and beats young men who can't grow a beard, but they are not offended by an infidel wearing different stages of the U.S. uniform? I am not accusing Bergdahl of being a defector. I am just asking questions.

The story says he left his base without a vest or weapon...possibly to see a woman, with 3 Afghan soldiers. Something about that seems problamatic to me...but I dunno. Maybe he had some of these uniform items at his ‘girlfriend’s’ house. The soft cap could have been in his pocket. The sweatshirt doesn’t make any sense though....also, it looks like he has gained weight?
but, although things seem weird, he is obviously over his head now...and I hope he gets home.
Army surplus store?
