I thought the way this one grips the branch upon which it is lit was interesting. I guess more than just us humans and a couple of apes have opposing thumbs. I'm surprised that the grip the bird has is sufficient to keep it upright.They learn that balance very early in life. Plus, they don't weigh very much. Here is an immature tricolor with a one-foot grip:
