Weird stuff seems to go with major comets. When a comet appeared in A.D. 60, the people of Rome assumed it meant the impending death of their still new emperor, Nero. He responded by exiling a potential rival. When another comet turned up just 4 years later, ancient historians say he ordered the execution of dozens of nobles. It is said that Moctezuma II saw a comet in 1517 that foreshadowed the downfall of Aztec empire. In 1910, a wave of hysteria swept over the United States amid reports that Earth was about to pass through Halley's tail.

Hey, 400! Bill is good at tests, but he needs work to ace the PSAT and get thousands for college.

Bill needs to figure out what is required of him to get to the next level. Once he has that figured out he will RULE THE DAY! !!

I agree, agree, agree, agree. I’m emphasizing how important the PSAT is for him to achieve *his* goal of going away to college.

It’s already dealt him height, good looks, and a guitar. What more could he want?

At this point, it’s all up to him what he makes of his opportunities. If he doesn’t step up to the testing challenge, there’s always Central Piedmont or a job.

I suspect life will keep him on the Straight and Narrow!
His Elusive Self will be all he needs to keep him in line.

We have had a few good rains...it was getting dry, and we needed it.

I hoped to find an example if Virga rain on youtube, but only found pictures of clouds, and this.....

“The Scientific Miracles Of The Holy Quran 10 (The proportion of rain)
Islam Is The Only TRUTH Rain is liquid precipitation. On Earth, it is the condensation of atmospheric water vapor into drops heavy enough to fall ...
by Murder6Da6devil6Bush | 11 months ago | 1,153 views”

Gee. I’m glad they have figured out rain. On Earth, too. As opposed to ??

Oooo. Bed.

I left my heart among the down and percale. Even now my three-inch thick heat-sensitive foam mattress topper and neck pillow serenade me across the cosmos.

Ay-yi-yi!

I should live so long as to have a neck pillow serenade me across the cosmos of the 100% cotton flannel and the Egyptian cotton (1000 tpi) surrogate mommy-lovey-stuffy-thingy that rocks me in the cradle of the deep. Or whatever....

"Gee. I’m glad they have figured out rain. On Earth, too. As opposed to ??"

On other worlds of this solar system at least, rain can be the falling condensation of almost any atmospheric vapor. Ammonia, methane, sulfuric acid, and so forth.

Occasionally, it's water.

Sis.

Life sucks. And then you meet (in one way or another) someone who thinks the Quran/Koran is the word of God, and therefore, all the lives of the Infidels are worthless. But don’t get me started!

If you take your Bible and substitute “Mahdi” or “12th Imam” everywhere you see the proper nouns “Antichrist”, “The Beast”, et. al. you’ll have a more accurate script for what’s coming.

“The Beast” will be the spawn of a vile and forcible union between some poor underage thing (deflowered while under the influence of a mickey slipped to her by her Islamist father, no doubt) and a demon masquerading as a superintelligent being from space.

“The Beast” comes by his moniker honestly; not for simple outlandish cruelty, but for his outworldly DNA.

Read “Childhood’s End”. Originally published as a short story under the title “Guardian Angel”, the case is well-made that Arthur C. Clarke was unwittingly prophetic.

“Think two, count blue”

A literary reference that's probably missed by 99% of everyone here.

Marvelous tales. I should make time to reread them.
