I had a different sign on for 4-5 years but rarely posted and usually forgot my password when I wanted to. I forgot it after I changed ISPs and couldn't get a new one, so I created a new account: lostpassword.

I’m getting so old I forgot.

There are rightist big-government nanny-staters in charge of the RNC; I would say that is the difference.

I sed to work on the road, travelling from nuke plant to nuke plant. Hence “road”. And wearing green scrubs, walking quickly, and beeing thin, I got the nickname of gumby. There ya go.

Mine is an homage to one of my favorite quotes from the classic baseball flick "Major League": "Hey, bartender! Jobu needs a refill!"

I used to post on Free Republic with my real name but I wanted to be able to mess with people's heads anonymously so in 1997 or thereabouts, I changed it to SamAdams76.
Sam Adams for several reasons...like the famous patriot I am a Bostonian and also a bit of a muckraker who loves to stir things up. I've never actually incited a riot - but always wanted to. Maybe I will get my chance someday.
Also my beer of choice in those days was Sam Adams Lager and I was even making beer at home (with not so good results) so the name fit me perfectly. I then tacked on the numbers to lend some additional "Spirit of '76" authenticity to the moniker.
Sam Adams...brewer, patriot, Freeper pain in the neck. That would be me.

I worked medical attached to the marines. I never liked being in the aid station so if anybody was out doing something, I’d grab my gear and join in. I jumped out of aircraft, spy rigged, climbed rocks, and pulled the trigger on everything that went boom on the base. I also played sports and biked half the state. In the course of all the fun, I got to know all of the orthopedic surgeons on base. I spent about half of my active duty in a bandage, cast, splint or sling.
I can’t remember if it was my CO or one of the surgeons that called me dangerdoc the first time, but it stuck until I left the service.

So people here would know how old I was, roughly, and what I did for a living so they could understand my perspective better.

When I was introduced to FR at the Oct. 31 1998 March for Justice, I was an Evil Inside the Beltway lobbyist for the National Retail Sales Tax.
Taxman was a natural handle for me.
BTW, I was not a Beetles fan and did not know of their song by the same name.
