A song that’s been done an awfully lot is not going to sound original unless the singer has the ability to play around with the melody without losing their place. Christine Aguilera is the best singer I can think of at playing around with a melody. Lee didn’t do that but he was on the right track and not on qualuudes like everyone else was.

I guess my criticism is that the Ray Charles version of “That’s Life” is much, much more well known from the 70’s on than Sinatra’s and Lee just did an imitation of Ray (a good one, mind you). Lee didn’t change the song style at all from the changes Ray did.
Hey, it worked and Lee has some good talent. But he skated tonight.
Don’t know why, but Lee’s voice always sounds off to me - like he’s flat, even when he technically isn’t. Maybe it’s just me. :-/
