It was clearly difficult for her — outside of her normal areas of strength (which have many).
Nice explanation of her rationale and approach. I think part of the reason she continues to do so well is she respects the craft of singing. She doesn’t go for the cheap tricks and gives deference to her medium’s requirements.
It may sound like I am bit on the bandwagon, but I really do appreciate what she brings to Idol.
I hate the judges slamming someone for not being perfect when singing genres they wouldn’t ever record.
