No, it was an environmental issue. It was killing the planet, causing animals to be endangered, etc. None of it was true, but some woman went on the crusade to have it banned.

Did you know also that DDT fights bedbugs like nothing else does. And now bedbugs are back in the United States. People bring them home from a hotel (they love to hitchhike in people’s suitcases), and it is a living hell to get them out of your home. We need DDT to be used sparingly but used in cases like that.
