Good evening everyone.

The MSM seems all too willing to give O a bounce and boost with the passage of Health Care "Reform".

We'll see...not all polls support this, but DC commentators can convince themselves of most anything.

They are easily convinced by the arrogant, cocky, and supremely self-regarding President.

Dropped off my car to be serviced

Which will occur right after they service the bikes and mopeds, and give hikers therapeutic massages...

I was going to publish the "Comprehensive List of the POTUS Broken Campaign Promises." I gave up. I was on page 3, and it appeared as if there was still about another 10 pages to go.

Therefore, I'm just going to publish the Executive Summary -

Comprehensive List of the POTUS Broken Campaign Promises."

Executive Summary.

Anytime the POTUS has opened his mouth and uttered words.

George Bush, Queen Elizabeth, and Vladimir Putin all die and go to hell.

While there, they spy a red phone and ask what the phone is for. The devil tells them it is for calling back to Earth.

Putin asks to call Russia and talks for 5 minutes. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is a million dollars, so Putin writes him a check.

Next Queen Elizabeth calls England and talks for 30 minutes. When she is finished the devil informs her that the cost is 6 million dollars, so she writes him a check.

Finally George Bush gets his turn and talks for 4 hours. When he is finished the devil informs him that the cost is $5.00.

When Putin hears this he goes ballistic and asks the devil why Bush got to call the USA so cheaply.

The devil smiles and replies: “Since Obama took over, the country has gone to hell, so it’s a local call.”

What's interesting about the 57 states remark is that, I believe, 57 IS the number you get when you add together all the states, the District, Overseas Commonwealths, Incorporated Territories, and Unincorporated Territories.

Except that territories and protectorates are not states, and besides, the joke was referring to the “phantom” congressional districts listed in the stimulus “accounting”...;-))

Yes to both. I was trying to point out the new math the POTUS is apparently using to get to 57. Anyway, I did like your humor! :)

[I've been trying to figure out how to become one of those phantom Congressional districts! But then again, I'd incur the wrath of all here. Ah, not worth the $$$.]

I agree, it was probably that formula Nobama was using when he said 57, and I would normally let him slide, but it was said during campaigning and he was referring to stops to talk to real voters, so -- denied!!!

Hey, Chair, would love to hear your take on these two issues buried in the PPACA law (that's what I am calling it from now on): the notorious 'Doc Fix' and Congress' abandonment of Tri-Care. ;-))

[In re the stimulus $$$ and feeling guilty taking it: Hey, it’s going to be spent anyway, why not have it go to a good home??? ;-))]

PPACA law (that's what I am calling it from now on):

I call them (there are two) the Intolerable Acts. They really are, in my mind, right up there with the Port of Boston laws enacted by Parliament before the Revolution.

Doc Fix - what a joke on We The People. Here's how it works and why it causes such a mess. Imagine, if you will, that you are broke, your bill payers are hounding you, but you cannot declare bankruptcy. But there is this thing you really want. You tell yourself it won't cost that much, and you tell your creditors that it will actually save money in the long run and make payments to them easier. That's what Doc Fix is. It starts with the annual statement of what Medicare will pay docs, which is always predicated upon both increased efficiency (usually couched as "elimination of fraud, waste, and abuse) and therefore ALWAYS a decrease over the previous year. Since none of the efficiencies ever occur and since costs go up, Congress always enacts a "fix" to cover the costs. So the real cost is Base Program + Doc Fix. (You know, Enron officials went to jail for this...)

Tri-Care - no change due to the Intolerable Acts. That's at least some good news on this. They left that program alone. I have to give some thought as to what that means moving foward, but at the moment don't have enough to form an opinion.

Yes, we're all thinking the same thing. Every time I turn around I need something to make this work.

I am so angry at Verizon! I tried ordering phone service for the office and they want a faxed and notorized copy of my passport or piture id plus another proof if identity before they process my order. Then it will take 4 hours before they confirm the proff is real.

It would be a lot easier if you were just trying to vote. No ID required.

True - and to add to my displeasure, I was solicited in the mail by Verizon to buy a bundle of services. BWAAHHH, I already have internet with them but will never get the TV fios service. No Sunday ticket for football, and I hear it stinks.
