Suspicions were growing last night that Russian security services were behind the leaking of the notorious British ‘Climategate’ emails which threaten to undermine tomorrow’s Copenhagen global warming summit.
An investigation by The Mail on Sunday has discovered that the explosive hacked emails from the University of East Anglia were leaked via a small web server in the formerly closed city of Tomsk in Siberia.
The leaks scandal has left the scientific community in disarray after claims that key climate change data was manipulated in the run-up to the climate change summit of world leaders.

And that, my dears, is what its all about. A new currency that enables corporations to avoid taxes and help themselves to tax payer funded grants. Jones and his co-conspirators should be charged with obtaining monies by deception. There is no doubt that there was the prospect of prolonged public funding behind these misrepresentations. This is just the tip of the iceberg and if the Russians are involved in exposing these frauds then they deserve our gratitude not our criticism.

Our MPs were up in arms when their withheld expenses were leaked to the public, and now East Anglia is up in arms now that their attempts to withhold evidence contrary to their opinion has been leaked. Tough. Their failure to grasp the power of the world-wide-web clearly exposes these learned professors as fools.

Putin and the Russian State obviously have most to lose in the next 20-odd years, being the world's most powerful oil and gas exporters, if Copenhagen forces us poor westerners to walk or cycle everywhere in the dark.
I praise the Russians for this act, which is good and right, if they have indeed hacked the CRU.
How far we have fallen when we need the Russians to save us from our own politicians.

Maybe this Russian connection will get the US media reporting about the CRU scandal.
Up to now they appear to have done their best to suppress the story.
Yesterday I could find no mention whatsoever in the New York Times and CBC refuse to report it.
Suppression of the truth is an obvious sign of lies and propaganda, which is what the man-made GW story is.
This is the biggest conspiracy in the world with the aims of more taxation and control over every aspect our lives with schemes such as "carbon credits" and food rationing will be next.
The Met Office said that they will release 150 years of data. But the ice age ended 13,000 years ago and the Earth must have been warming up then to cause the ice to melt. Only 150 years of data is meant to explain it all?

Amazing in a day and age where supposed man made global warming which concerns us all is pushed on us by our governements for the purpose of inventing new taxes and to increase others (green taxes), when information comes out contrary to their opinion that we should all know about it is considered a leak and police and intelligence sources are used to find the liberators of informations hidden from us! Many scientists already knew that the IPCC gang was corrupting the data and the normal scientific processes. We've known it for years. The leaked CRU documents simply confirm that we were right. They come only as a shock to politicians, media reporters who've been failing to do their duty, and assorted gullible greenies. It doesn't matter who did the leaking. They have done the world a very great service in exposing the fraud. They have also done real scientists and science itself a great favour, but, sadly, it may be some time before the immense that damage the IPCC gang have done can be undone.
The dim-witted blindness of Brown, Milliband, Obama, EU politicians and ilk is an especially major hurdle to be overcome, as the utterly pathetic recent comments by Brown and Milliband all too clearly demonstrate.

Lies are Lies and the Global Warming science has evaded freedom of information requests for years... Carbon Tax and big business have hijacked this agenda and its not about saving the planet but profiteering. We need a public inquiry and we need to know what other data is being withheld and most of all we need people like Gordon Brown to shut up as if its all "Nothing to see here" agenda... Fraud has been commited on a massive scale and people need to be brought to boot. Gordon Brown should be looking at investigating fact openly but theres nothing open or truthful about politics nowadays and that needs to be fundementally changed by giving people more power.
This is, IMHO, a red herring. As I understand it, this server was available to the public and the upload could have originated from Al Gore's bedroom or Sarah Palin's kitchen. Linking this to the Russians is nonsense. Although we don't know who the leaker is, we do know that the collection of files was put together by somebody who knew what they were doing. That gives two possibilities that are good Ocham's Razor candiates: An insider put the files together and released them or, the files were put together for an aborted FOI release and were inadvertently left in the open for some clever, but also knowledgeable, person who took advantage of the error. Very likely one of those scenarios is the truth.
Man...a lot has changed since this happened.
