It probably is not Cablevision as much as it is the designer of the filtering software. If I were in that position, I’d talk to a manager on the tech side and ask them which vendor they use for filtering malicious websites.

Most have categories and each can be modified to make exceptions. Chances are the cable company doesn’t even know who sets up the filtering software. Find who is responsible for that and you can probably get it corrected.

I agree that everyone with Cablevision should check to see whether or not the same happens to them, and if it does, they should immediately besiege Cablevision and demand that they stop this sort of illicit political propagandizing and go back to being a services-provider, not a branch of the federal nanny-service.

Those of you with Cablevision may want to do as I did and call customer service with a threat to cancel immediately all services if their parental control portion of the security suite is not immediately modified to remove FR as a "hate" site.

Why tell some flunkie your problem? It won't get passed up to those who make the calls. Just cancel. Go with a different company.

I guess you’ve never been on a homosexual or illegal alien thread. I’m not saying FR is a hate site but there are enough people making comments that could be construed as hateful that it is, IMO, almost impossible to defend against that kind of accusation. You don’t even have to go to that extreme. Look at some of the “caption this pic” threads.

FR is the kid of website it’s mods, owner and participants want.
