My question is;
Since this has been going on for at least a week, why hasn't someone set up some higher quality video recording equipment to record these events?
All we see are shaky videos that look like cell phone quality.

Well, the article said both film and videotape, though this could have just been a poor writer wanting to use a different word every time to describe the same thing.
