The sad thing was, Ellsberg was a Marine at one point. Methinks he was an attention whore whose wife turned him from a Scoop Jackson Democrat to a McGovernite (per the documentary itself). In a sane world, he would have gone to the gallows, instead of being feted in the salons of New York and Georgetown.
