the classics never wear out:
The Neandertal Enigma
by James Shreeve

in local libraries
Frayer's own reading of the record reveals a number of overlooked traits that clearly and specifically link the Neandertals to the Cro-Magnons. One such trait is the shape of the opening of the nerve canal in the lower jaw, a spot where dentists often give a pain-blocking injection. In many Neandertal, the upper portion of the opening is covered by a broad bony ridge, a curious feature also carried by a significant number of Cro-Magnons. But none of the alleged 'ancestors of us all' fossils from Africa have it, and it is extremely rare in modern people outside Europe." [pp 126-127]

Early Humans Used Brain Power, Innovation and Teamwork to Dominate the Planet

Interesting how we're now viewed as Modern Humans Using Fossil Fuel Power, Exploitation, and Selfishness to Decimate the Planet.

Early Humans Used Brain Power, Innovation and Teamwork to Dominate the Planet
— —— -
Somehow I doubt that these “early humans” had any concept that they were on a planet or that their goal was to dominate it. I think they were just trying to survive- - Unless of course, they were liberals who have always desired to dominate the planet due to their highly superior brain power.

Huh. Really? And all this time I thought it was our huge rending fangs, bone crunchingly powerful jaws, massive daggeresque claws and blindingly fast sprint speeds what done us for the top slot.
