Not in my state, or any of the other states in which I'm familiar. Such an attack on the child would only result in one outcome for the animal, euthanasia.

It is TMZ, so I'd take that part of the report with a grain of salt.

If it would have been me, the dog would have been dead by the time the cops got there. I once shot a stray Husky in the head for attacking my daughter when she that age.

Dogs don’t go bad on their own, they go bad because of the way they are cared for. The dog is almost never the problem, it is the owner. These dogs are not at fault and they deserve the opportunity to be cared for by a COMPETENT owner that won’t raise killers.
